Hello everyone,
This weekend I have completed an initial test for the B787 tail section.
The result with the fitting was positive, even though with this test I was able to spot a flaw in my new printing setup (that was not visible until I printed larger prints), it was later addressed and I have begun the print process of the master fuselages.
From this first assembly there are things I am going to correct:
- The final parts will be printed in higher resolution, this is to make the panel lines smoother.
- The position lights at the tail cone will be printed separately, so that they will not bother when applying putty/sanding the union of the APU cone to the fuselage.
- I still miss some detail underneath the APU cone which will be added. Note that the elevators access door has been added.
- I will be reorienting some of the parts for a better printing on flat faces.
Work continues with the Dreamliner fuselages, I finished printing the 787-8, then the 787-9 will follow. I will take my time to ensure this master fuselage is as best as possible prior the molding. The fuselage will also undergo several tests regarding door and window fittings, although I am doing my best to have this seat ready for Christmas, it may require me a bit more time as it is not only one fuselage that will be done (-8, -9, -10) and depending on the test results, I will be able to give a more accurate release time.
As you may know, the weather around our region is a bit unstable at the moment, with a lockdown situation from midnight to Monday noon, I am not sure how the situation will be in the next few days, but work will continue.
